Young American Jesse meets a beautiful French woman, Céline, on a train. They instantly find plenty to talk about, and Jesse persuades her to get off with him in Vienna so they can spend the evening and night together before he flies back to the United States the next morning.
That night, something magical happens: a love so powerful is born between them that everything else fades away. For almost the entire film, the screen belongs only to these two characters — and it’s impossible to look away.
